Reach

The Reach project will strengthen the conditions, ability and motivation of young foreign-born women and men to begin or return to education or join the labour market. The project aims to provide individual support measures for young people who do not work or study and those at high risk of social exclusion and marginalization, to give them greater opportunities to reach, study or join the labour market. The efforts will be demand-driven and tailored to the participants, where the objective is to: • Strengthen insight and knowledge of the Swedish education system and the labour market. • Increase motivation and support the path to study and career choice. • Increase opportunities for integration by taking part in civil society networks. • Increase the conditions for workplaces to offer internship, job introduction or employment. • Increase participant's knowledge in developing existing and new methods as well as working methods that will lead to studies or work. The primary target group is young foreign born women and men aged 15-24 years. Part of the efforts will also include young people who are not foreign born. The efforts will also include the employees involved in the project by supporting them to develop both existing and new methods. In total, approximately 1,200 young foreign-born women (300) and men (900) will take part in various measures and activities. Region Östergötland is the Lead Partner and will cooperate with six stakeholders - five municipalities (Motala, Norrköping, Söderköping, Valdemarsvik, Ödeshög) and the upper secondary school for the nature resource use programme. The project is aiming at contributing to the ability of young foreign-born women and men to gain confidence in themselves, others and to society, effects that will encourage the target group to study, return to education or join the labour market. Participating organizations have implemented methods and tools which contribute to individual, organizational and structural conditions which facilitate young foreign born women and men to get an education and participate in working life. The project will also contribute to increased knowledge and ability to apply gender equality, accessibility and non-discriminatory working practices of participating individuals, organizations and its staff.
