In view of the situation we are in with the Corona virus, a large proportion have been laid off in both our regions. The industry that currently has the most difficulty in the regions is the tradesector. On May 4, Tillväxtverket updated its statistics on submitted applications in the short term: Västernorrland - laid off in trade: 1140 individuals Jämtland - laid off in trade: 1103 individuals August: Västernorrland - laid off in trade: 1 472 individuals, 13.1% of all people who works tradesector in Västernorrland. Jämtland - laid off in trade: 1312 individer We are currently facing a situation in the labor market in Västernorrland and Jämtland region where layoffs for small and medium-sized companies are increasing in avalanche. More than one in ten people of working age are currently working in this sector in our respective regions. The goal of this project, Handelskraft, is to create opportunities for individuals within management or employees in the private sector to develop skills. The individual can be dismissed, notified or hired. The development of competence in the project can lead to the participant obtaining a diploma or targeted improvement in competence. The efforts can be integrated into ordinary activities and intertwined with practical steps. Skills development can relate to various methods and tools, including: training, workplace guidance and improved mapping tools. The project will start with a competency survey of the members of the companies in the trade and sales sector and related industries. These individuals undergoing competency mapping will receive support for transition or skills development through regional transition coordinators who equip the individuals in their lifelong learning. In order for the efforts that individuals require of working life, a matching project manager is employed who works actively to ensure that these efforts create neglected activities that support the target group. In addition, these efforts should be made visible on a digital platform so that individuals in the target group get an overview of available opportunities for further education, career change or transition. The project includes Region Västernorrland, Region Jämtland, Chamber of Commerce, Employment Service and business enterprises. The goal is for 450 individuals in the trade and related industries to undergo skills-enhancing efforts.
