THE AIM OF THIS PROJECT IS TO DEVELOP AND OPTIMISE AN INNOVATIVE PROCESS OF BIOREFINING (FRACTIONATION) OF MICROBIAL MATRICES (MICROALGAE AND/OR BACTERIA), WHICH LEADS TO FRAZIONARLE IN ITS ENTIRETY, OBTAINING COMPOUNDS AND FRACTIONS WITH HIGH ADDED VALUE OF NUTRACEUTICAL USE (OMEGA-3 AND OMEGA-6 FATTY ACIDS, CAROTENOIDS, PROTEINS RICH IN ESSENTIAL AMINO ACIDS) TOGETHER WITH STARCH FOR BIOPLASTICS. IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PRINCIPLES OF GREEN CHEMISTRY AND THE PILLARS OF SUSTAINABILITY, IT IS PROPOSED TO DEVELOP A BIOREFINING PROCESS BASED ON GREEN SOLVENTS SUCH AS: SUPERCRITICAL CO2 AND INVERTABLE (SWITCHABLE) SOLVENTS BASED ON NATURAL SUBSTANCES (NADES).THE SCO2 ALLOWS THE EXTRACTION OF THERMOSENSITIVE COMPONENTS WITHOUT DEGRADING THEM, IT EASILY SEPARATES ITSELF FROM THE EXTRACTED SOLUTE AND IS TOTALLY NON-TOXIC. NATURAL INVERTIBLE SOLVENTS, ANCH’S NONTOXIC, OPERATE UNDER AMBIENT PRESSURE CONDITIONS AND CAN ACT ON THE STILL MOIST BIOMASS REDUCING ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL COSTS
