IN-CAB MONITORING SYSTEMS FOR ROAD VEHICLES ARE BECOMING ESSENTIAL IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY, AS THEY ENABLE: 1) AVOID LEAVING UNATTENDED OCCUPANTS INSIDE THE VEHICLE (WHICH ENTAILS HUGE RISKS OF HEAT STROKE AND INVOLUNTARY OPERATIONS OF VEHICLES): 2) MONITOR THE CONDITIONS OF THE DRIVER AND OCCUPANTS (ACQUISITION OF DATA ON VITAL SIGNS AND HOW THEY ARE POSITIONED); 3) PREVENT/MINIMISE ACTS OF VANDALISM AND THEFT (THANKS TO BETTER SURVEILLANCE); AND 4 RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT, THANKS TO THE PROVISION OF EMPIRICAL DATA.
