Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) aims to implement an infrastructure modernisation (building renovation) project aimed at increasing energy efficiency, reducing thermal energy consumption, operating costs and increasing the attractiveness of the student campus. The project is designed to renovate and insulate 4 dormitories located in Pašilės str. 37, Pašilės str. 39, Vydūnas al. 25, Vydūnas al. 25a, Kaunas buildings, thus optimising thermal energy consumption and reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. Project activities: 1. Insulation of buildings. 2. Improvement of physical and energy performance of building engineering systems. The project envisages an integrated renovation of buildings through energy saving packages recommended in the energy audit reports. The project will significantly contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing energy consumption to 1 409.49 MWh/sq.m/year. After the implementation of the project, it is planned to save about 49 % (EUR 84649.07) of heat energy costs, to achieve the energy efficiency of buildings class B and to upgrade the area of 18735.51 sq.m.
