The project proposal aims to contribute to achieving the requirements of Directive 91/271/EEC on urban waste water treatment, by providing infrastructure for waste water disposal and treatment in 3 agglomerations with more than 10 000 p.e. on the territory of Sofia-city, Bankya and Novi Iskar, and through reconstruction, modernisation and completion of SWTP — Kubratovo. As a result of analyses and studies carried out, taking into account Opinion No PJ-JASPERS/2020-424/ET/RA/jw of 21.12.2020, the following sites to be included in the scope of the project have been identified: “Implementation of the sewerage network of kv. “Krastova vada-East”, "Completion of the sewerage network of the district. “Simeonovo”, “Construction of sewerage network for sq. “Dragalevtsi”, "Completion of the sewerage network of the district. “Suhodol”, "Completion of the sewerage network of the sq. “Detection”, "Completion of the sewerage network of the district. “Benkovski”, "Completion and reconstruction of the sewerage network of the town of Bankya, sq. “Gradioman”, “Mihailovo”, “Verdikal” and the villages of Ivanyane, “Bankya”, “Completion of sewerage network of Novi Iskar” as well as reconstruction, modernisation and completion of SWTP-Kubratovo, including technological equipment. The project envisages the construction of 114.110 km of canal network as follows: 14.344 km. mixed channel. network; 66.891 km domestic canal. network and 32.875 km. rain canal. network and reconstruction of 1.941 km. canal. network. Reconstruction/modernisation/implementation of WWTP-Kubratovo is planned. The additional number e.g. with access to improved waste water treatment after the implementation of the project is 14 441 and the total pollution load collected and treated is expected to reach 1 395 387 p.e. During the implementation of the project, including the reconstruction and modernisation of the WWTP, the discharge of untreated waste water treated in the existing WWTP will not be allowed.
