This project is aimed at providing adequate care for children and young people on the territory of Stara Zagora Municipality, who need support after closing the homes for children deprived of parental care in the city, as well as children with disabilities and their families. The project envisages the provision of social services in close to the family environment. The target groups are: — Children at risk, including those with disabilities and their families; — Children, including those with disabilities accommodated in services of a resident type in the community; — Young people leaving residential services in the community. The project activities aim at opening the following six new services on the territory of Stara Zagora Municipality: — Community support centre; — Day care center for children with disabilities and their families; — Day care center for children with severe multiple disabilities and their families; — Observed housing for young people from 18 to 21 years old; — Two Transitional housing for children from 15 to 18 years of age. The main activities of the project are: Selection and hiring of staff engaged in social services for children and young people, intended to be revealed by the municipalities on the respective target territory, relocation of children and young people from the target group and their placement in the newly revealed services of resident type, as well as the use of daily and consultative forms of social services, provision of newly revealed social services, purchase of specialised means of transport and purchase of equipment and furniture not provided for in the OPRD project. By increasing the number of social services offered on the territory of the Municipality and through the practical application of innovative methods of working with children and young people, progress will be made in support of the deinstitutionalisation process, which corresponds to the objectives and priorities of this procedure.
