Extension of cross-border cyclotourism networks through development of capillary bicycle paths in Križevci and Zalakaros

During the last decade in Križevci (Croatia) and Zalakaros (Hungary), the awareness on importance of active and healthy life has been strengthened, increasing number of people which use bicycle as an recreation tool. However, both towns have been facing a lack of cycling and recreation infrastructure. Therefore the partner have set the development of cycling infrastructure in Križevci and Zalakaros area as a precondition for improving the quality of life and development of tourism as the main project objective. Project brought newly constructed and renovated infrastructure up to the length of 8 kilometres. In Križevci 4,35 km of new bicycle paths was built, furthermore 550 metres of access road next to viewing point. In Zalakaros 2,95 km of new bicycle paths was constructing, connecting whole town and spa area.
