The aim of this small project is to organise a cross-border scientific parliament for French and German high school students on the subject of air-climate energy. In preparation, the students of the 16 participating classes will participate in a kick-off day as part of the Science Days in Rust in October 2019. Here they will attend lectures by German and French speakers on the subject of air-climate energy and European democracy. By January 2020, the pupils, supported by their teachers, are engaged in research on this subject using the pedagogical documents developed within the project. In each class, 5 pupils will be appointed to represent their school at the two-day Science Parliament in Strasbourg at the beginning of February 2020. Within the framework of the Parliament, the pupils will test the democratic processes of the co-legislators. They will form 5 committees where they debate with each other, supported by experts on the issues dealt with. The results will then be presented in plenary and discussed again in order to take appropriate decisions. These decisions will then be passed on to the relevant local legislative bodies and presented in the participating classes in order to achieve implementation at school level.
