The subject of the project is to undertake activities aimed at enhancing the accessibility and promoting cultural and natural objects in Żary and Weißwasser, including: (1) the adequate equipment of the area with infrastructure, buildings and devices which enable and facilitate visitors to use the environmental and cultural heritage: a) the construction of tourist stops along inward routes to Żary (streets: Żagańska, Zielonogórska, Piastowska, Serbska, and Zgorzelecka), and to Weißwasser (streets: Muskauer Straße, Heine-Heine Straße, Bautzener Straße, Tiergartenstraße, and Halbendorfer Weg). Each tourist stop is a parking space with parking slots, including places of rest. Places of rest will be equipped with the following objects: - a concrete table with banks, - a stand with information boards, - stands for bicycles, - a waste bin; b) the construction of a tourist stop next to the Green Forest in Żary, including: - a parking space with 43 parking slots, including 2 slots for persons with disabilities, and an internal road with a one-side pavement and a bus stop and a dewatering system, - a recreational square equipped with a shed with a fireplace (a symmetric shed with 8 sides of equal length, with a wooden and metal construction, and a smoke hole in the roof), places of rest (concrete tables with banks), stands for bicycles and stands with information boards, - a fencing of the area, - waste bins, - planting plants, c) the marking of tourist routes, d) the creation and equipment of tourist information points, including an Info-Kiosk, (2) promotional activities aimed at enhancing the recognisability and associations with the region, and facilitating to reach a wide range of recipients (including those living outside of the support area): a) the preparation, production and assembly of information and promotional boards at tourist stops and railway stations, b) conferences aimed at disseminating the knowledge about the geological structure of the post-glacial valley of the Green Forest and of the Muskau Bend, c) the preparation and production of information and promotional materials in two languages (folders, brochures, maps, and an Internet website).
