Natural and technogenic risks are one of the major challenges of our century - a complex area that must improve our knowledge and understanding to take immediate measures to address efficient and fair the challenges of emergency situations. These conditions have led authorities to strengthen their capacity for preventing, monitoring and action against such situations. Usually the natural hazards are not producing only locally, they propagate to the neighboring region, sometimes with the same or higher intensity. Mehedinti and Bor regions are susceptible to natural disasters and high levels of risk prevention can be achieved through cross-border cooperation. To achieve the strategic objective and specific objectives of the program it requires professional and adequate technical endowment under the law and rules of the European Union, the necessary facilities for the three local authorities for carrying out activities of prevention, reduction or elimination of the risks of emergencies and their consequences, population protection, the infrastructure, environment, property and heritage values means and specific measures. The project is focused on the one of the key challenges of the border region, namely the common challenges in the environment and specific aspect of local preparedness in relation to cross-border emergency situation. Thus, all partners who are facing limited budgets and common needs can share experience and create premises for CBC interoperability in emergency situations. The project aims to improve the capability of alarming and intervention of local public authorities in emergency situations, with impact on local communities and volunteer services from Sisesti, Majdanpek and Mosna. The main results of the project concern both the modernization of the provision of local authorities with alarm systems and specific equipment as well as the joint training and exchange of good practices and the elaboration of a guide on emergency interventions elaborated by the volunteer service members for situations emergency in Sisesti, Majdanpek and Mosna. The benefits of this project are: increasing the resilience of the communities on the two banks of the Danube and the safety of the citizens; Developing a unitary vision in the management of natural and technical risks; Improving the cooperation between the institutions involved in the management of natural and technological risks, inclusive at cross-border level, which means including an increase in their efficiency; The aim of cross-border cooperation is to develop good neighborly relations with neighboring countries with the EU and to support economic and social development and to promote European values in partner countries in the context of EU enlargement
