The film and audiovisual industry is strongly positioned in each of the partner countries and throughout the Upper Rhine region, both at economic and educational levels. It is a decisive factor for the region’s economic attractiveness and artistic creativity, has a positive impact on the employment of artists and filmmakers, highlights the region’s natural and cultural heritage and stimulates cultural and tourist activity and thus the local economy. Despite this competitive offer of filming locations and competences in the production and service sector, professionals in the partner countries have little or no knowledge of the activities of the film and audiovisual media sector in the neighbouring region. The Film am Oberrhein/Filmer en Rhin Supérieur project aims to stimulate a new cross-border identity and cooperation in the film and audiovisual media industry through the various planned actions, to improve the transfer of knowledge about the technical and artistic potential, talents and resources, corporate structures and funding and funding opportunities in the field of pre-production, production and post-production, cooperation and training opportunities, existing activities in the neighbouring area, in order to eventually increase the number of shootings.
