The main objective of the project is to improve accessibility and socio-economic development of the PolishRussian border regions. The implementation of the project will contribute to improvement of access to the border-crossing point Bezledy – Bagrationovsk and development of the transport network in the border area. The project infrastructure activities on the Polish side will be conducted in the town of Bartoszyce, where a new four-span bridge on the Łyna River will be constructed. The bridge, containing a sidewalk, a cycle path and lightening, will have a total length of app. 0.11 km. Moreover, in the same town it is planned to construct a new road section (with a cycle path and pavement) with a length of 0.64 km and to reconstruct one of the existing roads (0.59 km). On the Russian side, the activities foresee the reconstruction of 6 streets with sidewalks in the town of Gusev, with the total length of 3.94 km. The streets are located in the places of high economic and social importance. In addition to the road safety aspect, the project will strengthen cross-border cooperation of the institutions responsible for the roads management sector on both sides of the border.
