The main objective of the project is to develop cooperation between both hospitals in the scope of implementation of the most appropriate tools and methods, which are aimed at adaptation of the Polish-Russian borderland population’s to adverse impact of climate changes. The project’s implementation will enable to improve the quality of medical infrastructure to be used for diagnostics and treatment of diseases resulting from the climate changes. Furthermore, activities taken within the project will have an influence on increasing the level of expertise knowledge of medical staff in the field of adaptation of healthcare institutions to the climate changes and deepen knowledge in specific thematic areas. It will also have an impact on increasing the awareness of inhabitants of Polish-Russian borderland in the scope of health hazards resulting from the climate changes and prevention role in morbidity evasion. The activities within the project include modernization of the Neurology Ward along with the Stroke Sub-department (useful floor area 745,8 m2) in the Suwałki hospital, together with buying furniture and special medical equipment for this hospital, such as: USG, cardio monitors, pulse oximeters, central monitoring system, beds with bedside lockers, infusion pumps, holter monitors etc. On the Russian side, the beneficiary is planning to purchase the modern medical equipment and special devices for Chernyakhovsk hospital, including: USG, biochemical analyser, endoscopic equipment, cardio monitors, resuscitation apparatus, stationary echoencephalographic set etc.
