Steps towards a more climate-neutral agriculture

The agricultural sector faces the challenge of developing food production so that it contributes more to meeting global demand for food, while at the same time production must take place with a lower climate impact than today. Farming without greenhouse gas emissions is not possible, but just like the rest of society, emissions need to be reduced if climate targets are to be met. The goal of the project is to contribute to a faster implementation of new technology and knowledge in agriculture. It in turn promotes the production and distribution of energy from renewable sources. The project will achieve this by strengthening the natural resources schools and the students’ role as change leaders in the transition to a more climate-neutral agriculture. They will support schools to develop more and better practices and activities. The project will contribute to transferring knowledge and best practice across regional and national borders, as well as developing new knowledge and experiences together. An important development area is the transition to renewable fuels for tractors and working machines, and the drying of cereals. Agriculture also has a great potential through new farming methods.
