Chemical technologies for the recovery of industrial residues in the Pyrenees

This project focuses on the valorization of industrial wastes from agro-alimentary industry (fatty waste) and pesticides (lindane and derivatives) concerning both sides of the Pyrenees. TRIPyr aims to develop state-of-the-art methodologies based on catalysis. This strategy represents a tool with high synthetic potential given its selectivity in raw material transformation with a high economy of atoms and energy processes. The industrial transfer of the studied processes will be carried out through scale-up studies both in batch and continuous flow conditions for the catalytic transformation of the identified residues in value-added products. The complementarity between the partners, both at academic level and industrial transfer domains, allows the implementation of optimized processes at a TRL 5-6 level. The expected success of this project is based on the knowledge capitalization in catalysis by academic laboratories and the vast experience in pilot scale transfer by technology centers, together with the direct participation of a SME, which will act in the whole territory. TRIPyr aims to stimulate both circular chemistry and economy that benefit the business community in the area with better management of resources, creating new industrial opportunities based on research, development and innovation (R+D+I).
