Green economy for greener local communities in Danube area

The project support using renewable energy sources (RES), reduction emission of greenhouse gasses (GHG), environment protection and employment and innovation thru energy hub and cross-border cooperation. The overall objective: To stimulate an enabling environment for community development, as well as to empower public, business and civil sector to be effective and accountable actors in sustainable energy development, rational using natural resources and reduction climate changes, based on the partnership and implementation EU principals. SO1: Improved using RES and reduced emission GHGs thru establishment strategic framework, installation solar systems and modernization public light system in municipalities Dobreta-Turnu Severin and Kladovo. Outputs: Published manual about energy efficiency measures in SMEs; Networked of Kladovo with Covenant of Mayors for Climate&Energy; Approved Sustainable Energy Action Plan of Kladovo; Prepared energy passports for 15 buildings in both municipalities; Instaled solar systems in 8 public buildings; Reduced emission GHG for 30% annualy by public light in Kladovo; Prepared feasibility study and technical documentation for procesing wooden biomass collected in dump of HP Djerdap I and using heat pumps in 5 public institutions in both municipalities; Implemented training program for 40 unemployed. SO2: Established mechanism for capacity building and joint actions of public, business and civil sectors from Dobreta - Turnu Severin and Kladovo in EE, RES using and reduction emission GHG. Outputs: Implemented 2-day workshop for RES using with 40 participants; Established a cross-border network of 15 stakeholders for innovation in energy sector; Prepared study about RES potential of the region; Established Energy hub; 600 pupils, students and public sector representatives improved knowledge about RES using, climate changes and reduction of GHG emissions thru info days, two day seminars and 5 day eco camp; Afforest Tekija village as natural disasters prevention; Published 150 posters, 1000 flyers, 700 DVD and TV spot about project and sustainable development. The project approach principles: Dedication to the needs of target groups and their participation; Improvement of capacities for using RES and increasing EE; A strategic approach in planning of use RES and improving EE; Cross-border networking and development of procedures for joint actions in sustainable development; Shearing of examples of good practice; Encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship development in energy sector thru Energy hub. Developed new solutions: Energy hub as platform for education and innovation support; Establishment synergie for development and innovation in energy sector thru networking; Networking Kladovo with Convenant of Mayors and preparation SEAP, as solution for reducing energy consuption and emission of GHG; Increasing potentials of the region for using wooden biomass energy potential.
