ICT Tools for the diagnosis of Autoimmune diseases in the Mediterranean Area

I.T.A.M.A. aims to enhance health and quality of life, by improving the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases (MAI), with a focus on the study of celiac disease in the Mediterranean. The overall objective is activate a network between research and productive environments in the healthcare sectors to develop innovative ICT Tools for the diagnosis of MAI, and related technology transfer tools. The two main outputs produced are: a) Database and innovative ICT tools to support the diagnosis of celiac disease for Healthcare delivery services. b) Technology transfer services by modeling production processes based on the project’s results for health companies and specialized enterprises. In current emergency context, the ITAMA project decided to take actions against the COVID-19 Pandemic aiming to develop further activities. The project aims to realize - an online tool for the analysis and monitoring of symptoms that could indicate the presence of COVID-19; - an e-learning platform with educational content regarding the symptoms that may indicate the presence of the virus, indications on social distance, useful rules for protection with the use of masks and other protective clothing, useful rules for one's own hygiene. The ITAMA project is also in the best conditions to analyse public data online with the methodologies of IA, adapting its DSS and enhancing it with territorial and geographical information to process information and draw up scientific/epidemiological studies. These studies can be used for the purpose of prevention in the area and optimization of medical resources in local health structures.
