High-quality water available in the Stare Juchy Community and in the Ozersk District, for the benefit of the cross-border area between Poland and Russia and the Baltic Sea

Project aims at improving the quality of the environment in the cross-border area in Stare Juchy Commune and in Ozersk District. Its implementation ensures access to water of good quality and decrease water losses in the cross-border area. Activities taken within the project will increase awareness and knowledge about water saving among inhabitants. The planned activities in Stare Juchy Commune include a construction of 3 water-works to connect villages, which are currently out of reach of the municipal water supply system, to the network as well as a construction of a water treatment station and a sewage system. Russian partner is planning an installation of a water filtration equipment, reconstruction of 6,23 km of water supply networks in Ozersk District and development of technical documentation. Both partners will reduce water loss thanks to water meters. The nature of environmental problems for the Baltic Sea requires cooperation on both sides of the border. The quality and access to water in the project area can be improved through common activities with raising awareness and knowledge about water saving and protection.
