Developing infrastructure and competencies in fire security and rescue field across border

Project “Developing infrastructure and competencies in fire security and rescue field across border” is implemented by Municipalities of Elektrėnai and Filipow. With this project partners aim to assure inclusive growth in border regions: Elektrėnai and Filipow, through development of infrastructure and competencies in the field of fire security and rescue. Project will be implemented from 1st of January, 2019 till 1st of December, 2020. During the implementation of project partners will develop infrastructure: a new fire fighter station will be built in Elektrėnai, Gmina Filipow will renovated fire fighter station, buy and equip a fire truck. Educational program on basics of hazard prevention, fire safety and rescue will be developed by partners together. 400 citizens will be trained in Filipow and Elektrėnai. Partners together will implement 4 competencie development and practice exchange events: 2 study visits, 1 youth exchange and a conference. 190 people will take part in cross-border events and develop their competencies. These events will allow Elektrėnai municipality to take over the good practice of voluntery fire safety and rescue units from Poland. The newly developed infrastructure, educational program for citizens and experience exchange between fire fighters will contribute to safer community development and bigger trust between citizens and local governament across border. Citizens will be motivated to join voluntary fire safety and rescue units.
