Installation of a meteorological radar in Saint-Martin/Sint Maarten

The RADAR project aims to acquire a new meteorological radar to improve the radar coverage of the small West Indies and thus improve the reliability and accuracy of weather forecasts for our territories. Radar data will support the predictions of Météo France and the Sint-Maarten Meteorological Centre and will allow further analysis of the impacts of meteorological hazards. The Community of Saint-Martin and the Government of Sint-Maarten are contributing, with this project, to the existing climate observation network and reliable and accurate measurements will be available continuously for the region. This project will then allow for better coordination of alerts and alerts on the same basis of measures. Overall objective: — improve knowledge of the impacts of weather hazards on the region; — establish common meteorological risk management systems;
