The project is a direct continuation of the activities carried out in the project from the 1st Program recruitment. The general objective of the project is to increase the use of natural and cultural resources of cross-border cities of Elk and Kaunas for tourism purposes. The main activities of the project are: creating a unique tourist attraction allowing admiring the natural heritage of Lake Ełckie (sightseeing tower) and the development of cultural heritage in the castle in Kaunas (amphitheater). Therefore, the City of Ełk will continue to develop the potential of the shore of Lake Ełckie, and the City of Kaunas - the potential of the Castle in Kaunas. These two investments will make it possible to use attractive places in a controlled manner and in accordance with established rules. The partners will also continue to carry out joint activities aimed at increasing awareness of the tourist attractiveness of both regions as potential places for recreation and leisure. The project has planned activities that will promote the region as a tourist destination: maps, audio guide, application, billboards, travel of journalists, articles - national range, announcements on social media. These materials will be developed based on natural and cultural heritage. The target group of the project are residents of both cities and regions, tourists visiting the border area. Total value of the project: 741 021,56 EUR, 15% of the contribution will be covered by LB, B2 and B3.
