The main aim of the project is to increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of the Kaliningrad Region and the regions of north-eastern Poland connected by bicycle routes, integrated with the EuroVelo network, through the promotion of local culture and the preservation and sustainable use of historical, natural and cultural heritage. The project provides for the construction of a bicycle path running through three coastal towns in the Kaliningrad Region: Svetlogorsk, Pionersky and Zelenogradsk, with a total length of 34 km. Ultimately, the route is to be linked to EuroVelo - the European network of bicycle routes. Moreover, the added value of the project also involves various types of “soft” activities, such as the organization of study tours and the creation of a catalogue containing bicycle routes in the Kaliningrad Region and north-eastern Poland.
