The aim of the project is to develop and demonstrate a fully autonomous, unmanned, multi-purpose ship that will be capable of autonomous navigation under real operating conditions and fully protected from cyber interference. The multi-purpose ship is primarily planned to be used to mitigate the consequences of potential environmental disasters caused by oil spills into the sea, as a fire-fighting ship in maritime accidents, i.e. to clean up solid surface waste. An unmanned vessel would allow for a more efficient use of resources, and in addition to the absence of risk to the crew, interventions would ensure a long-term stay on the high seas or external islands without the need to modify the crew as soon as timely and rapid action is ensured.
