EU L 187/1 of 26.06.2014).The result of the project will be product innovation in the form of a new technology for recycling panels and photovoltaic cells for the recovery of rare earth polymers and elements. The developed technology will focus on the processing of dismantled photovoltaic panels starting with the initial dismantling phase consisting of removing aluminum frames, electric concentrator and copper wires, and ending with the separation of materials from the photovoltaic cell. The developed solution will be a complementary technology of processing and industrial management of all the raw materials fractions that make up the photovoltaic panel. The proposed technology will be different from the solutions currently available on the market, which allow the processing of only selected types of photovoltaic panels and focus on the separation of raw materials in the form of aluminium, copper and glass, leaving without recovery a contaminated mixture of polymers with silicon and rare earth elements.
