As part of the project, support will be directed to the existing Special Kindergarten at the Janusz Korczak Special School and Education Centre in Sokółka, Sokólskie District, Podlaskie Voivodeship. The kindergarten received support in the field of retrofitting pre-school places under 2 projects co-financed by the ESF (priority axis IX) and the competition (priority axis VIII), which concerned the expansion of the playground and its adaptation to the needs of persons with disabilities. The current project will be a type of project no. 2,5,6 which assumes the adaptation of existing pre-school establishments to the needs of children with disabilities by purchasing and installing equipment, such as: furniture, ICT equipment, software, purchase of teaching aids, specialised equipment or tools adapted to the needs of children with disabilities and implementation of additional educational and specialist offer enabling the child with disabilities to participate in pre-school education by correcting the deficit resulting from the disability. The project envisages extending the offer of kindergarten to include additional activities that equalise children’s educational opportunities in terms of deficits identified, including: physiotherapy (rehabilitation movement.) with physiotherapist, Tomatis therapy, W. Sherborne method, alternative ways of communication using the “Mowik” program, C-Eye system and other communication tools, hypotherapy and swimming pool. Activities are also planned to develop universal skills necessary in the labour market by developing creativity and teamwork: Sensoplasty, LEGOtherapy, cooking. The project also assumes the improvement of skills, competences or qualifications for working with children of kindergarten age, including special development and educational needs, including coping with difficult situations, as well as training support for parents.
