Improving air quality by installing RES installations in households from Mielec Municipality

The subject of the umbrella project is the introduction into the Municipality of Mielec of technology enabling the use of renewable energy. In total, it is planned to build 586 installations using RES. In the Municipality of Mielec will be installed: photovoltaic installations in 422 locations, with a total capacity of 1,49364 MWe, solar collectors installations at 67 locations, with a total capacity of 0.28998 MW, installations of air heat pumps in 60 locations, a total capacity of 0.1608 MW, installations of air heat pumps c.o.o. and c.w.u. in 28 locations, with a total capacity of 0.61 MW, installations of biomass boilers in 9 locations, with a total capacity of 0.178 MW. The Applicant and Beneficiary of the Umbrella Project is the Municipality of Mielec acting for the benefit of the residents. The implementation of the project is a response to the identified problems of the Applicant and the City’s residents. The main objective pursued by the implementation of this project is to increase the use of RES in the overall energy production in Mielec Municipality. This will be achieved by achieving the direct objectives resulting from the analysis of the problems and needs of the Applicant. These are namely: 1. Increase in the production of electricity and heat from renewable energy sources in Mielec Municipality by 2 132.17 MWh/year. 2. Improvement of air quality in the city by reducing pollution, including reduction of CO2 1 317,92 [tonnes CO2/year], PM10 0.2390 (t/year), PM2,5 0.1279 (t/year). 3. Improving the quality and standard of living of the local community.
