The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of pre-school education and to increase the number of permanent places of pre-school education in the municipality of Wejherowo. The project will cover 32 preschool children, 26 teachers and 32 parents/legal guardians. As part of the project, it is planned to adapt 2 places of pre-school education to the needs of children with disabilities by extending the therapeutic offer of the Special Kindergarten at the District Special Education Complex in Wejherowo. Pupils of kindergarten will be supported in the form of additional activities increasing their educational opportunities in pre-school education and aimed at the development of key competences and universal skills. In connection with the introduction of new methods and therapies, the project also planned professional development of teachers in the field of working with children with special development and educational needs. Activities supporting teachers are complementary to those aimed at children. The project ensures the sustainability of the effects for a minimum of three years from the date of completion of the project. The planned activities are in line with the Wejherowski County’s policy in the area of pre-school education and contribute to qualitative changes in the functioning of the PLO and result from a diagnosis prepared on the basis of an analysis of the situation of Special Kindergarten at PZKS in Wejherowo (the only PLO of which is the leading authority).
