The main objective of the project is to: Increasing the availability of cultural monuments and cultural heritage resources. The project will contribute, inter alia, to: revitalisation of the building after the former chapel at ul. It’s St. Nicholas in Chełm with land development, improvement of the technical condition of the building through comprehensive modernisation, increase of social and cultural attractiveness of the city of Chełm. The aim of the project will be achieved by carrying out construction works in accordance with the developed project in the building, which currently houses the Art Department of the Museum of the Chełm Land (cultural units of the City of Chełm). The project will include internal and external works: waterproofing, masonry, plastering, carpentry, sanitary, c.o., electric. The area around the building will be managed and rainwater will be taken to the urban rain network. The renovated building will receive the necessary equipment. Due to the historical value of the resources of the chapel’s cultural heritage (the building after the Greek Catholic Church of the Union of St. It’s St. Nicholas), the works will be carried out under the archaeological supervision and conservator of the monuments. The project will be measured by indicators: An increase in the expected number of visits to supported cultural and natural heritage sites and tourist attractions (CI9) — 2400 visits/year; Number of persons using the supported facilities — 2400 persons/year, Number of persons using the cultural resources facilities supported — 2400 persons/year, Number of cultural resources objects supported — 1 pc, Number of cultural institutions supported — 1 pc., Number of facilities adapted to the needs of persons with disabilities — 1 pc., Number of immovable monuments supported — 1 pc. The project’s stakeholder groups are: local and regional authorities, current and new users of the building, residents of Chełm and tourists. The project meets the needs arising from the desire to protect cultural heritage resources for current and future generations.
