The project concerns the development of rest-home and stationary care and the construction and equipment of a respite care centre (in a complementary part related to the infrastructure). The aim of the project is to respond to the needs of a growing social group in Pomerania, which are the de facto carers of dependent people due to age (the ageing of the population), illness or disability, and the insufficient amount of care services of the public sector, as shown by the diagnosis. It is intended to support the deinstitutionalisation of care for dependent persons. Residential respite care will be addressed to residents of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, home respite care for the inhabitants of Gdańsk and the neighbouring urban edifice — Pruszcz Gdański, urban-rural municipalities: Kartuzy and Żukowo and rural communes: Cedry Wielkie, Kolbudy, Pruszcz Gdański, Przywidz, Pszczółki, Suchy Oak and Grand Trumpets, Przodkowo and Somonino. As part of home respite care, 15 carers will take care of 61 people (approx. 200 hours per person) — during the duration of the project. In-patient respite care will consist of providing 24-hour care to actual caregivers (family care) — i.e. people who need permanent care due to disability, advanced age and severe illness (bodily ill, after strokes, people with dementia diseases, with disabilities) at the time of respite necessary for the family. The duration of the stay in the Centre will be an average of 10 days. The Centre for Retirement Care (COW) includes 20 in-patient care facilities, including 10 places under the project (due to the limited grant pool). Volunteers will be involved as part of home and in-patient care. It also includes training for formal and informal carers (actual and volunteers). Project implemented in partnership with the Municipality of Gdańsk (MOPR). The durability of the project of 15 places in home care and 10 in stationary care is carried out in partnership with the Municipality of Gdańsk.
