The project is planned to be implemented under Priority Axis 3 Energy efficiency and low-carbon economy in the region, Measure 3.4 Sustainable urban mobility and promotion of low-carbon strategies, Scheme: construction and reconstruction of bicycle paths, ROP WK-P for 2014-2020. The investment falls within the type of projects envisaged for co-financing under the above-mentioned measure. The project concerns the construction of a pedestrian-bike path on the section connecting the villages of Wałdowo Szlacheckie and Biały Bór with the provision of a location allowing for later construction of carriageways and bus bays along the county road number 1395C. The project budget includes the following tasks: construction works, investor supervision and project promotion. As part of the project: a two-way pedestrian-bike path will be built, stop platforms located within the planned investment for future bus bays by the district road will be built, a bicycle parking lot with parking spaces and a shelter in the area of the Wałdowo Szlacheckie railway stop will be constructed, the existing roadway and pavements colliding with the new geometric layout will be rebuilt, exits to the property will be built/rebuilt, the existing terrain will be protected. The implementation of the project will contribute to the development of a system of walking and cycling paths in the Grudziądz rural commune, characterised by lower availability of pedestrian and bicycle path infrastructure than urban areas. On a broader scale, the implementation of the project will enable results such as: reducing the traffic of motor vehicles, reducing CO2 emissions from the transport sector, improving the quality of the environment, improving the level of safety of road users, increasing the tourist and recreational potential of the municipality, increasing the coherence of the transport system in OSI Grudziądz and integrating the public transport system with pedestrian and cycling transport.
