Liquidation of individual heat sources in the Zoological Garden and other public buildings in Opole

The material scope of the project includes the decommissioning of individual heat sources in order to connect to the gas network together with the necessary accompanying works. The liquidation of sources concerns public buildings with a very large range and social impact, i.e. buildings of the Zoological Garden in Opole and the University Clinical Hospital in Opole (USK). The beneficiary of the project is the City of Opole. As part of the project, USK acts as an entity ultimately benefiting from the implemented aid — it is the so-called final recipient. The project, in the ZOO part, provides for the decommissioning of the central coal boiler room and its replacement with local gas boilers located throughout the garden. A new section of the local gas network will be built with connections to the buildings, as well as local thermal networks. The zoo’s buildings will also modernise energy-efficient lighting. The project also provides for the exchange of heat source through the supply and installation of a photovoltaic installation. The zoo area is entered in the register of monuments. The project in the USK part provides for the decommissioning of the heat source (fired with stone coal) and the connection to the gas network supplying the project. cogeneration system consisting of 2 gas engines. The project also includes the necessary thermomodernisation works. This is particularly important in relation to the role played by the City in the settlement structure (high population density) and the role played by the buildings covered by the project. (the impact range is wider than communal). The liquidation of existing heat sources, together with the necessary additional work, will be of great importance for the protection of air, human health and the environment. For the project, the output indicator was defined: Number of modernised heat sources in buildings: 19 pcs., Number of decommissioned heat sources: 18 pcs. Number of heat sources listed: 1 pcs.
