Reconstruction of the premises of the Traumatic and Orthopedic Department and of the Gynecological and Obstetric Department (gynecological part) with adaptation to the treatment of infectious patients and performing the function of a reserve observation-infectious area

Specific objectives of the project: — Improving the safety and comfort of patients’ stays, — Improving the quality of health services provided by ensuring comprehensiveness and continuity of care for patients diagnosed with an infectious disease — Increasing the ability to conduct oxygen therapy of patients, — Improving accessibility for people with special needs through the use of door automation, floor trays, lack of thresholds, fixtures in sanitary facilities for elderly and vulnerable people, — Ensuring equal access to rapid medical assistance for patients infected with infectious diseases, — Reduction of mortality levels and post-operative complications, — Shortening the waiting time for medical services and the time of hospitalisation. The objectives will be achieved by adapting and modernising the third floor of the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Biała Podlaska in order to improve the quality of health services provided in the areas of infectious diseases, orthopaedics and traumatology and gynecology. In addition, the planning of the action will increase the hospital’s resilience to emergencies related to infectious diseases by creating a reserve area for the treatment of infectious diseases, through the possibility of transforming the above-mentioned wards into areas dedicated to hospitalisation of “infectious” patients. The infrastructure created under the project will be used to provide public-funded health services.
