In Romania, the coronavirus pandemic is an ongoing outbreak caused by the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV2), which causes a disease called COVID-19. The first priority currently in Romania is to protect the health of citizens. The performance of the health system is one of the main pillars. Moreover, a worthy Romania is a Romania in which every citizen’s access to quality medical services is respected. In this regard, on 3 April 2020, the Ministry of Health issued Order No 555/2020 approving the Plan of Measures for Hospital Preparation in the context of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak. According to this Order, the Plan of Measures for Preparing Hospitals in the context of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak is approved. Targu Mures County Emergency Hospital — building body Child Surgery was included in the LISTA with support hospitals for patients tested positive or suspects with SARS-CoV-2 virus, Annex 3 to Order No 555 of 3 April 2020, issued by the Ministry of Health. The overall objective of the project is to increase the capacity to manage the COVID-19 health crisis by ensuring the timely and effective response of the medical system of the Targu Mures County Emergency Hospital to the COVID-19 crisis and to strengthen the adequate capacity for care and treatment of cases of SAR — COVID-19 infection by equipping with equipment/devices/medical equipment/materials necessary for the treatment of patients suspected/confirmed with SARS-CoV2 infection. The aim of the project is to create the necessary infrastructure for the timely and efficient response of the medical system of the Targu Mures County Emergency Clinical Hospital to the COVID-19 crisis. Given that limiting the spread of SARS-COV-2, as well as its extremely serious effects on the population, can only be achieved by providing the necessary medical equipment for therapy and monitoring of infected patients, as well as protective equipment for medical personnel, it is necessary to properly equip the hospital in order to obtain an effective and timely response of the health unit to the crisis caused. The equipment and medical equipment to be purchased under the project are used to achieve the overall objective of the project, namely to limit the spread of SARS-COV-2 virus, as well as its extremely serious effects on the population by early detection of cases infected with SARS-CoV-2 virus, and by providing the necessary treatment to suspect/confirmed patients with this pathogen, including serious and critical cases. At the same time, in order to provide the necessary medical assistance to patients suspected/infected with SARS-CoV-2 virus, it is necessary to purchase specific sanitary materials for the treatment of serious/critical cases internalised in sections
