“DEVELOPMENT OF SMART NATURAL GAS DISTRIBUTION GRIDS IN THE COMMUNES OF BARU, SÂNTĂMĂRIA ORLEA AND SĂLAȘU FROM ABOVE, HUNEDOARA COUNTY”

Increasing the level of intelligent functionality of the natural gas distribution infrastructure used for the implementation of the Community public utility service for natural gas supply to the population, in accordance with the legislation in force, by improving flexibility, safety, efficiency in operation, in particular by using IT technologies to support demand and supply challenges as well as by integrating transport, distribution, final consumption activities. Within the project it is proposed to establish the natural gas distribution system medium pressure by installing 3 control stations — Measurement-Predation (S.R.M.P.) high pressure, which will supply natural gas (average pressure) the localities within the project. The total length of the distribution network is 120.663 km. Out of a total of 3,586 households (1052 -BARU, 1175 -SALASU, 1359 — SANTAMARIA), through this project will connect 3,451 households (1017 -BARU, 1127-Salasu, 1307 — SANTAMARIA), resulting in a degree of connection of 96.24 % (3.451/3,586)*100). The project contributes to the result indicator of the programme (Intelligent level of function of natural gas distribution infrastructure) by using intelligent instruments in the field of pressure, metering, flow rates, inland pipeline inspection, odorisation, cathodic protection, anticipative reactions, traceability over the entire length of 120.663 km of the distribution network, which will contribute to the increase of 0.21 % (relating to the total length of distribution networks in Romania) of the weight of smart grids. The technical solution proposed by the project contains new technologies capable of providing: real-time information on the whole system; data to facilitate rapid decision-making both for a pro-active approach to pipe and equipment safety and for the operational efficiency of the system; automated control to optimise the safety of equipment and pipes and to increase the efficiency of the distribution system; through this project will be installed smart meters, equipment that combine electronic metering with a communication equipment and thus have the possibility to connect with other equipment and networks. These smart meters are devices that have embedded computing and network capabilities and have a high degree of automation that allows consumers to make savings. Also, the project will acquire 3 intelligent natural gas control and measurement stations and 3042 connections will be made.
