Centralised thermal energy supply system, using geothermal energy in Santana City

The overall objective of the project is to improve the quality of air, water and soil by reducing the degree of pollution caused by the combustion of fossil fuels used for the production of thermal energy, stimulating the use of systems that use renewable, clean energy sources, reducing the amount of fuel used and reducing the financial costs of thermal energy. The present project aims to achieve a system of production and supply of thermal energy in centralised system, using less exploited renewable energy sources, namely geothermal energy. The project aims to implement a thermal energy supply solution for district heating, using less exploited renewable energy sources, namely geothermal energy, given the high potential in Santana City. The project will contribute to the LIOP 2 S53 result indicators by increasing the gross production of primary energy from renewable sources less exploited by 0.124 Mi toe/year. Thus, it is intended to build a new plant and equip it with new and high-performance installations and equipment, to make drills for geothermal water extraction and injection of thermally used geothermal water, to realise the geothermal water transmission pipelines and to achieve a thermal energy distribution network, the project contributing major to the achievement of the specific objective 6.1, namely increasing the production of energy from less exploited renewable resources (biomass, biogas, geothermal), distribution. It is curpined in: 1. The Europe 2020 strategy, PNR and CSR, namely: sustainable growth by promoting a low carbon economy through energy efficiency measures and promoting green energy, as well as promoting environmentally friendly modes of transport and a more efficient use of resources; 2. Objective of LIOP 2014-2020, namely: Development of transport, environment, energy infrastructure and risk prevention at European standards, in order to create the prerequisites for sustainable economic growth, safe and efficient use of natural resources; 3. OT4 of LIOP, by supporting the production of energy from renewable sources, energy efficiency measures, the introduction of smart technologies; 4. The LIOP strategy, namely: support the production of less-exploited renewable energy; improving energy efficiency through cogeneration systems; monitoring systems for energy distribution in industry; improving the energy efficiency of municipal district heating systems in selected cities; the development of intelligent electricity and gas transmission systems, including the development of interconnection with gas networks in neighbouring countries.
