Increasing the level of intelligent functionality of the natural gas distribution infrastructure used for the implementation of the Community utility service for natural gas supply to the population, in accordance with the legislation in force, by improving flexibility, safety, efficiency in operation, in particular by using IT technologies to support supply and demand challenges as well as by integrating transmission, distribution and final consumption activities. Within the project it is proposed to set up the natural gas distribution system medium pressure by installing a High Pressure Control Station — Measurement-Predation (S.R.M.P.), which will supply with natural gas (average pressure) Brad Municipality. The total length of the distribution network is 56.905 km. The project aims to increase the living and living standards of the population by providing improved conditions for heating homes or food preparation compared to the current housing conditions, where housing heating or food preparation is carried out on the basis of wood, with an impact on the issuance of increased amounts of pollutants and pollutants in contradiction with environmental policies at European Union level. Out of a total of 11,869 households at Brad City level, 11,304 households will be connected through this project, resulting in a 95.24 % degree of connection. The project contributes to the result indicator of the programme (Intelligent functionality level of natural gas distribution infrastructure) by using intelligent tools in the field of pressure, metering, flow rates, internal pipeline inspection, odorisation, cathodic protection, anticipatory reactions, traceability over the entire length of the distribution network of 56.905 km, which will contribute to the increase of 0.100372 % (relating to the total length of distribution networks in Romania) of the share of smart grids. The technical solution proposed by the project contains new technologies capable of providing: real-time information on the whole system; data to facilitate rapid decision-making both for a pro-active approach to pipe and equipment safety and for the operational efficiency of the system; automated control to optimise the safety of equipment and pipes and to increase the efficiency of the distribution system; through this project will be installed smart meters, equipment that combine electronic metering with a communication equipment and thus have the possibility to connect with other equipment and networks. These smart meters are devices that have built-in computing and network capabilities and have a high degree of automation that allows consumers to make savings. Also, the project will acquire an intelligent natural gas regulation and measurement station.
