“Arad Airport compliance with the operational requirements of infrastructure, safety and airport security”, non-economic activities in order to ensure the airport with safety and security facilities, which do not involve construction.

The project “Conforming Arad Airport to the operational requirements of infrastructure, safety and security of the airport”, non-economic activities in order to ensure the airport with safety and security facilities, which do not involve construction, is part of the Operational Programme Large Infrastructure 2014-2020, Priority Axis 2 — Development of a multimodal, quality, sustainable and efficient transport system, Investment Priority 7c — Development and improvement of transport systems that respect the environment, including those with low noise and low carbon emissions, including inland waterways and maritime transport systems, ports, multimodal connections and airport infrastructure, with the aim of promoting sustainable mobility at regional and local level, Specific Objective 2.3 Call for projects for the development of airport infrastructure — new investment projects targeting non-economic safety and security activities. Project investments shall respond to the following eligible actions under OS 2.3: — B. New investment projects in airport infrastructure targeting non-economic activities in the field of safety and security Investments aimed at safety and security for air transport infrastructure are covered by the eligibility conditions for non-economic activities set out in Annex 10 of the applicant’s guide, as well as detailed by DGOIT Circular No 26156/06.07.2020 on clarifying the types of investments in the infrastructure and equipment needed to carry out non-economic and economic activities financed under Priority Axis 2 — Developing a multimodal, quality, sustainable and efficient transport system, Specific Objective 2.3 — Increasing the sustainable use of airports. By making these types of investments Arad International Airport will comply with the latest requirements of the aeronautical regulations, thus being offered the security conditions imposed in the airport activities and in case of emergency situations. Thus, the project contributes to the following programme indicator for Specific Objective 2.3 Call for projects for the development of airport infrastructure — new investment projects targeting non-economic activities in the field of safety and security: • 2S17 Modernised Airports Investment Objective: “Arad Airport compliance with the operational requirements of infrastructure, safety and airport security”, non-economic activities in order to ensure the airport with safety and security facilities, which do not involve constructions, will ensure compliance with the European requirements regarding the operation of the airport infrastructure safely and securely. It is aimed exclusively at non-eco-related activities.
