The overall objective of the project is to improve the educational services in order to reduce the school dropout and the efficiency of education in the municipality of Gherla, by carrying out works of construction, modernisation, arrangement and endowment of the “Ana Ipatescu” High School in Gherla Municipality. The proposed project comes in the context in which the community in Gherla faces obvious realities, such as: low level of community education (many cases of school dropout especially among the Roma community); school units insufficiently equipped with modern equipment; lack of after-school services; lack of adequate dining spaces and activities specific to “school after school” programs. Thus, through this project, the educational infrastructure of the “Ana Ipatescu” Theoretical High School in the area of 1309 square meters will be extended, modernised and properly equipped in order to carry out educational services, especially after-school, for the benefit of 900 children at risk of poverty and social exclusion. Nowadays, the educational activity of the students of the “Ana Ipatescu” Theoretical High School, the school of tradition, reputation and importance for Cluj County and especially for the Gerlean community celebrated in 2015 its centenary, 100 years since its foundation, 1915 being the year when a new school in Gherla was founded, known then as Preparandia for girls. The building is located on str. 1 December 1918, no. 20, consisting of 5 buildings (C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5) built on a plot of land with an area of 7,719 sqm owned by Gherla Municipality: Cf No 56013 Gherla. The building where the courses are currently taking place is in a sharp degradation, which eventually leads to the decision of the high school management to evacuate part of this building. This part of the building moves slowly because of the unconsolidated terrain, appearing cracks in walls and bumps posing a danger to high school students and teachers and beyond. Given the extremely difficult situation from the point of view of the degraded state of the building, it is a traditional high school with the best results and the fact that it is one of the largest schools in the county carrying out activities with many Roma students from Gherla Municipality, as well as in the neighborhoods belonging to Silivas, Mandate, Baita, the involvement of Gherla City Hall in the extension and modernisation of Ana Ipatescu High School is imperative. This investment project proposes the construction, modernisation, arrangement and endowment of the “Ana Ipatescu” High School in Gherla, in order to ensure an optimal climate for educational activities, especially those of after-school type, for children coming from the marginalised area, but also from the functional area of the municipality. The works will consist of modernisation, arranging and attic
