The general objective of the IDEA project — Essential Digital Innovation for Employees and Employers is to increase and improve the level of digital knowledge and skills among employees from the South Muntenia, South-East, North-East, Centre Development Regions by running a program to support digital skills for employees in SMEs, where 310 employees will benefit from digital skills training in order to professionalise and adapt to the requirements of the labor market, with a focus on the economic sectors with competitive potential identified according to the CNS and the areas of smart specialisation according to SNCDI. In order to improve digital knowledge and skills, 118 employees will be selected to benefit from basic digital skills training programmes, 158 employees will be selected to benefit from advanced digital skills training programmes and 34 employees will be selected to benefit from digital skills training programs dedicated to IT specialists. In addition to these training programmes, 32 enterprises operating in one of the economic sectors with competitive potential identified according to CNS/SNCDI or enterprises intending to adapt their activity to these economic sectors/smart specialisation areas mentioned above will benefit from support in identifying the possibilities and potential for digitalisation in order to develop and introduce work-based learning programmes in at least 3 of them. Following the development of digital skills training programs, the level of knowledge/competent/skills of 310 employees in the economic sectors/fields identified according to CNS and SNCDI will be improved, contributing to the achievement of the specific objective POCU 3.12 by increasing the number of employees who acquire skills necessary for professionalisation and adaptation to technological changes. In order to ensure sustainability, the project aims to develop mechanisms to support and promote work-based learning programs for at least 32 enterprises. The project will generate positive long-term effects, the overall objective being closely related to the National Strategy for Competitiveness 2015-2020, the National Strategy for Research Development Innovation 2014-2020, the Active Ageing Strategy, the National Strategy on the Digital Agenda for Romania and the National Strategy on Lifelong Learning 2015-2020, taking into account the following benefits: —Increasing the level of information, awareness and interest regarding the need to participate employees in continuous training programs, at the level of employers from the Development Regions South Muntenia, South-East, North-East, Centre; — Acquisition by employees of economic sectors with competitive potential identified according to the CNS and in correlation with the dome
