The overall objective of the project is to increase the safety of patients within the “Saint Maria” Clinical Hospital by carrying out modernisation/extension works for electrical, ventilation, air handling and medical fluid infrastructure, including the acquisition and installation of detection, signalling, fire alarm systems, as well as for situations of exceeding the maximum oxygen concentration. This objective contributes to the achievement of the programme result indicator, i.e.: Adequate care and treatment capacity for cases of SARS-CoV-2/infection to manage the health crisis, implicitly and at the LIOP quality indicator, by the fact that the investments targeted by the project have the role of developing/creating a fully functional hospital infrastructure in safe conditions, suitable for providing care and treatment for cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection, thus leading to strengthening the capacity of the Saint Maria Clinical Hospital to react and manage the health crisis caused by the spread of this virus. At the same time, the proposed project will ensure the necessary capacity to respond in a timely and effective manner to the health crisis, contributing to the achievement of the immediate implementation indicator of the programme, namely Public Entities equipped/supported for the management of the health crisis caused by SARS-CoV-2. Equally, the overall objective of the project is consistent with the specific objective of the call — Specific Objective 9.1. Increase the capacity to manage the COVID-19 health crisis, and aims to promote the investments needed to strengthen the response capacity to the public health crisis caused by the spread of SARS CoV-2 virus. Also, the objective of the project is based on the real needs of the medical system in the current context. The project contributes to the result indicator of POIM 2S132 — adequate care and treatment capacity for cases of SARS VOC-2/infection to manage the health crisis by improving the medical fluid infrastructure, upgrading electrical installations and equipping with detection and signaling systems.
