The overall objective of this project is to reduce the number of people at risk of poverty or social exclusion by developing cultural urban public spaces in order to ensure access to adequate leisure infrastructure. In the long term, this project will integrate with the investments that will be made following the implementation of the LOCAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY GAL “STRATEGIE RESPONSABILITY COMMUNITY FOR LUGOJ MUNICIPIUL”, financed through the CLLD mechanism, within the public-private partnership that Lugoj Municipality has established and financed. Together with the investment plan within the Local Development Strategy placed under the responsibility of the community, this project can offer solutions in an increasingly diverse and complex context, aiming at innovation and achieving results that bring lasting changes in the community. The project will also lead to the completion of the LOCAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY and to the implementation of the Regional Operational Programme, aiming at integrating the development needs into the entire public programmes and policies of Romania, as a Member State of the European Union and considering the realisation of complementary investments in the cultural component, as a source for a sustainable development in the future. The general objective also contributes to solving the problems that the village of Maguri currently has: the lack of a cultural space, a need identified in the LOCAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY financed by the CLLD mechanism, which would reduce residential segregation and create an opportunity for Maguri residents, which would raise their quality of life, benefiting from various services such as cultural and social services. Within the center will be organised cultural-artistic events/manifestations — with the participation of Roma people in order to promote in an interactive way the principle of mutual recognition of the values of various cultures, including the elements of traditional Roma culture, as well as the promotion of a positive image of socially marginalised people.
