The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the position of Cluster Furniture Transilvan — innovative cluster of European interest, by developing and operationalising the first Centre of Excellence for Furniture (CEM) in Romania by the end of 2023. The project contributes to the achievement of the specific objective of the programme on increasing RDI capacity in the areas of smart specialisation through the development of a R & D & I infrastructure, unique at national level, within which the research directions addressed will be oriented towards the field of smart specialisation 4. Eco-NANO-TEHNOLOGY AND AVANSED MATERIALS, i.e. sub-domain 4.4.6 Advanced materials and technologies for niche applications of the economy. More specifically, areas such as advanced materials and technologies for niche applications, automation and development of Industry 4.0 applications, production based on circular economy principles or smart devices and nano-technologies embedded in furniture products are considered.
