The objective of the project is to carry out the feasibility study for “Rehabilitation of the railway line Focșani — Roman”. The main objective of the project and the main outcome of promoting investment is to meet the requirements for rail transport laid down in Regulation (EU) No 1315/2013 on the orientations of the trans-European transport network: • Time savings in travelling distances on the reduced rail network, under standard conditions laid down in the European regulations for rail transport; The general objectives are as follows: • Improvement of rail infrastructure parameters to increase the maximum running speed to 120 km/h for freight trains and minimum to 160 km/h for passenger trains; • Ensuring interoperability through the deployment of ITS; in particular as regards: axle load (max. 22.5 t), load gauge C, length of lines in the station, facilities for persons with reduced mobility; • Compliance of the railway infrastructure and superstructure with the technical parameters required by the national and European standards and legislative and regulatory framework in force according to the design standard up to 200 km/h • the reduction of adverse effects on the environment; • Increase in transit capacity
