The overall objective of the project is to increase the sustainable use of Oradea Airport by developing and modernising airport infrastructure in compliance with the requirements of Commission Regulation (EU) No 139/2014 laying down technical requirements and administrative procedures related to aerodromes pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1139/2018 of the European Parliament and of the Council as well as appropriate annexes and decisions for the design and certification of aerodromes; EASA Certification Specifications (CS) and Guidance Material (GM) for Aerodromes Design CS-ARD-DSN (Issue 5); RACR — AVZ; RACR-WGS 84; ICAO DOC 9157; ICAO DOC 9184; ICAO DOC 9137; ICAO — (Doc. 9683). The project ‘Development and modenisation of airport infrastructure at Oradea Airport’ is part of the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme 2014-2020, Priority Axis 2 — Development of a multimodal, quality, sustainable and efficient transport system, Investment Priority 7c — Development and improvement of environmentally friendly transport systems, including those with low noise and low carbon emissions, including inland waterways and maritime transport systems, ports, multimodal links and airport infrastructures, with the aim of promoting sustainable mobility at regional and local level, Specific Objective 2.3 Call for projects for airport infrastructure development — new investment projects. Project investments shall respond to the following eligible actions under OS 2.3: New investment projects in airport infrastructure having as objective the construction/extension/modernisation of terminals, respectively rehabilitation-modernisation/extension of movement areas (pathways, taxiways, platforms, etc.), accompanied by environmental protection measures By carrying out these types of investments Oradea Airport will develop the infrastructure necessary to process increased air traffic and will comply with the latest requirements of the regulations in the aviation sector, thus providing superior safety conditions in airport activities. Thus, the project ‘Development and modernisation of airport infrastructure at Oradea Airport’ contributes to the following programme indicator for Specific Objective 2.3 Call for projects for airport infrastructure development — new investment projects: • 2S17 Modernised Airports • 2S13 — Passengers boarded and disembarked in airport transport: 0.027 Mil. passengers/year Through the technical solutions designed, the methods and technologies implemented within the project, the following environmental protection measures were included but not limited: assessment of existing infrastructure of moving surfaces and rehabilitation of existing structures to reduce land use; — the proposed structural system with prefabricated reinforced concrete elements
