The overall objective of the project is to develop the air transport infrastructure of Transilvania Targu Mures Airport in order to maximise the level of safety and security, according to the European and national regulations specific to this field. The project “Airport Security Equipment Acquisition and Remiza PSI realisation” contributes to the achievement of Specific Objective 2.3. Increasing the sustainable use of airports within the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme 2014-2020, being implemented at the level of Transilvania Targu Mures Airport, which is one of the 21 airports in Romania. The investment proposed by this project aims at safety and security for air transport infrastructure, thus contributing to the modernisation of an airport outside the TENT network concerned to increase accessibility and mobility by investing in airport infrastructure safely and in line with the environmental protection objectives. From the perspective of contributing to the achievement of the result indicators of LIOP O.S. 2.3, the implementation of the project determines the achievement of the following indicators: — 2S17 — Moderate Airports — 1 modernised airport — 2S13 — Passengers boarded and disembarked in airport transport (million passengers/year): 0.179 million people, in the context of a national target for 2023 of 20 million passengers/year.
