Increasing patient safety in Brad Pneumoftiziology Sanatorium

The overall objective of the project is the timely and effective response of the public health system to the COVID 19 crisis by improving the ability to care and treat cases of SARS-CoV2 infection and to manage the health crisis. POIM 2S132 — Adequate ability to care and treat cases of SARS-CoV-2/infection to manage the health crisis: Before the POIM intervention: No; after the LIOP intervention: YES, YES. The investments that will be made within the project will contribute to achieving the indicator POIM 2S132 — Adequate ability to care and treat cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Concretely, the implementation of the project will allow both the treatment of positive and suspicious cases in order to save human lives, as well as limiting the spread of this virus among the Romanian population in the context of increasing patient safety. The health unit provides specialised medical assistance to the population throughout Hunedoara County, summing up a number of 440964 inhabitants as well as the surrounding counties and all over Romania. Capacity for intervention at present: The Brad Pneumophtiology Sanatorium carries out its medical activity in Pavilion 1 (identified in the extract of CF as 64146 — C1) with a number of 155 beds, a bed for day care, a bed for the Evaluation Center, the remaining 153 divided by two sections, namely Section I Pneumology -76 beds from which Pneumology compartment 26, TBC 24 compartment, Respiratory Recovery compartment 10, Covid 16 compartment, Section II-77 beds of which Pneumology compartment 26, TBC 25 compartment, Respiratory Recovery compartment 10, Sleep 1, Covid 15 compartment. Currently, the deficiencies of the Brad Pneumoftiziology Sanatorium infrastructure are that there is no detection, signaling and alarm system in case of exceedance of maximum oxygen concentration, which can lead to increased risk of fires with serious effects on patients’ lives and health. The power supply is made by means of a 20/0.4 KVA transformer station located on the premises of the Sanatorium and belonging to SC ELECTRICA SA. The sanatorium is equipped with its own generator group since 2007 of 100 KVA to ensure continuity of activity in case of interruption of electricity distribution, but currently does not have the ability to ensure the autonomy of the existing consumers, because after its purchase, other high-power consumers have been added (oxygen station, oxygen concentrators, medical waste shredder installation) and a tomography computer will be installed, which requires the purchase of another electrogen group that makes it possible to supply electricity in case of damage. At the present time, the related electrical installations (general tables, distrib networks)
