Increasing the capacity of the Turceni City Hospital to manage the epidemiological crisis caused by COVID-19

The overall objective of the project is to improve the care and treatment capacity of cases of SARS-CoV-2/infection to manage the health crisis, by strengthening the medical infrastructure at Turceni City Hospital, with a focus on medical fluid infrastructure. The proposed project contributes to the achievement of the objectives of Priority Axis 9 Protecting the health of the population in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in LIOP and Investment Priority 9a, by the fact that its implementation will lead to the development at national, regional and local level of safe medical services for patients, together with the necessary investments at the level of the health infrastructure of Turceni City Hospital, investments that will guarantee patient safety. This will make the health unit better prepared to act promptly and with appropriate means, thus contributing to the timely and effective response of the public health system to the COVID-19 crisis, but also to future public health threats. The activities proposed by the project, in conjunction with the resources allocated and the project budget, enable the achievement of the overall objective and contribute to the achievement of the programme result indicator. In conclusion, the investment made will contribute to achieving the result indicator of the programme by fulfilling the following directions: Ensuring the safety of patients hospitalised in the public health unit, by carrying out the intervention works on the electrical infrastructure — Increasing the level of patient safety and reducing the considerable risk of fires, as a result of the provision of the sanitary unit with detection, signalling, fire alarm systems; Ensuring high-quality medical services through the development of the infrastructure for the production and distribution of medical fluids — Avoiding tragedies caused by the overload of electricity networks; — Financial cost efficiency by reducing possible costs caused by adverse events (fires, etc.). The realisation of the investment will generate benefits from the following points of view: 1.Social — by strengthening social cohesion, transmitting a sense of safety to patients, prompt responses in crisis situations caused by the Sars-Cov-2 virus; 2.Economic — by streamlining or even reducing costs related to maintenance, maintenance, repair of installations; 3.Environment — by improving the quality of the environment as a result of the modernisation of installations and the use of sources of medical fluids leading to a low consumption of CO2 emissions.
