ABN Group’s constant commitment to research, development and innovation of its products, together with the growing interest in the search for new products and strategic markets, has given rise to the INUPIPE project, with the aim of developing, optimising and validating a new integral system of pipelines for fluid distribution in buildings, to obtain safer, more reliable and efficient systems. For this, the project raises three key points of action of these systems: new pipe joining systems, developing different types of fittings; halogen-free pre-isolated pipes by direct foaming of the insulator over the inner tube; and polymeric pipelines technically improved in terms of oxygen permeability and thermal conductivity refers, through the introduction of micro/nano cellulose particles into the formulation of compounds. With the intention of solving the many technological challenges posed by this objective, the INUPIPE project establishes a framework for collaboration between ABN, a company with extensive experience in the plastic pipeline manufacturing sector, and two research centres with extensive knowledge of polymer materials and the development of new bio-nano materials; University of Valladolid (UVA) and CETIM.
