The purpose of this action is to expand and improve the current sanitation and purification systems in the municipality of Quintanar de la Orden; enabling compliance with Water Protection Directive 91/271/EEC. It will be carried out, through the execution of a new WWTP, as well as the system of collectors necessary both to drive the waste water generated in the core to the treatment plant, and to incorporate them, once treated, into the natural channel. A new treatment plant, a storm tank, the interceptor collector of Paseo de Colón and the renovation of the air section of the existing manifold in the Salmar Industrial Estate will be built. In addition, an emissary will be built that will double the municipality’s water evacuation capacity, ending the collapse of the sewage network and the episodes of flooding that are currently occurring in the lower areas. The works of the exit emissary include a new Work of Transverse Drainage of the N-301, which prevents the implementation of the WWTP from interfering with the preferential flow line of the Arroyo de la Blanca channel, a necessary requirement established by the Cuenca Agency.
